This, IMHO, is the best thing about growing your own food!!!! You get to experience the strange and delicious. From left to right: Romanesco Italiano Broccoli, Purple Broccoli, and a double yolked egg. All of these things were super tasty! Yum, Yum, Yummy!!
I started the broccoli in the fall from seed that I bought from Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds http://www.rareseeds.com/. The double yolked egg came from one of my Red Star Hens. She doesn't always lay double yolked eggs....she must have been in a really good mood!
